If Americans have a Dirt Quake racing game, British car players have an elegant motorcycle festival associated with classic models, the French have a Wheels and Wave festival with a bold lifestyle of players. French car. This festival takes place every year with car displays, flat-track racing, music and sports games of windsurfing, skateboarding, etc. full of street culture. Moreover, this is an opportunity for car builders to show off their breaking spirit in car tuning – a job that is inherently associated with steel and petrol.

However, the Honda SS50 (a familiar name in Vietnam is Honda 67) is built with a custom version that shows a completely new view of the car: using traditional and natural materials such as wood to customize the car. . The car was completed in two months for George Woodman to race in a race at the Wheels and Wave festival.

Inspired by the Sultans of Sprint – the racing spirit of the car players in France, the Honda 67-degree car has a unique appearance with the designs found on professional racing cars but has many “toys” that can be found in professional racing cars. handmade from wood. What’s more interesting, is that the wood for the car’s details is used from George Woodman’s interior workshop.

First of all, the entire engine and chassis of the car have been changed compared to the original. A new high-performance engine, comes with a new carburetor, a new exhaust pipe located right under the engine. The engine that Woodman uses is Daytona’s custom engine, 190cc capacity, 4 valves purchased from the most prestigious “tuning” engine supplier in France. Woodman also uses an 18-inch wheel configuration to replace the original 17-17 front and rear rims that come with racing tires. To fit the 18-inch rear wheel with wide tyres, the longer rear forks were replaced with a new rear shock absorber.

The original handlebar was removed by Woodman, replaced by a clip-on handlebar. The footrest position is pulled back with the gear lever and brake pedal, combined with the redesigned saddle… Changes to the steering structure turn the original Honda 67 into a Cafe Racer-style moped.

Moreover, the car is also equipped with power steering to help operate more stably at high speeds. Front brake system is upgraded with hydraulic disc brake. The clutch, brake lever, gear pick and aluminum alloy brake pedal “toy” replace the original details of the old design. Thus, Woodman’s custom car has a remarkable power with a high-performance engine, with reliable and safe operation. The car has a maximum capacity of 27 horsepower, a weight of 82kg. This bike is well-tuned for sprint racing, in street races like the Wheels and Wave car festivals.

However, the engine upgrades and expensive spare parts on the car are not the biggest impression on the car. The most special thing on this cafe racer is the handcrafted details made from interior wood.

The front windshield of the car is refreshed, the design is simple and impressive with the “smiley face” icon in the front. The tail hump that follows the saddle is also made of wood. From the rear, it can be seen that Woodman completely uses wood as the main material in the rear of the car. The rear fender and the number plate mount are also made of wood. More interestingly, all the materials for this custom bike are used from pieces of birch and chi hip wood picked up around George Woodman’s lumberyard.

Unfortunately, at the 2016 Wheels and Wave festival, the Punk Peak race that was supposed to be attended by the Honda 67 cafe racer was canceled due to dense fog. However, that is not the reason why George Woodman refuses to bring the car named La Chute to attend unique car festivals in Europe.
