And on Friday, Selena Gomez lent her star power to help other young people through their illness recovery, during the Big Slick 2019 Celebrity Weekend.
The 26-year-old singer posed happily with sick kids at the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

The ex-girlfriend of Justin Bieber wore her brunette tresses loose and with a center part as she hugged sick teens and kids at the event.
Gomez received a kidney transplant from actress and friend Francia Raisa in 2017, after being diagnosed with lupus around 2013.
During the transplant, Selena broke an artery, leading surgeons to create a new artery from a vein in the actress’ leg.

Big Slick celebrity weekend raises money for Children’s Mercy Cancer Center.
But it’s not all for show, as stars also chat and play games with some of the hospital’s patients.

The annual charity event began in 2010, when comedian Rob Riggle enlisted fellow funny men Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis to help him create a poker tournament to raise money for Children’s Mercy.
Fundraising efforts include a celebrity softball game, as well as a bowling tournament and the Big Slick party and show.
Eric Stonestreet and Selena Gomez are regulars at the A-list annual event.
