Selena Gomez is vibrant in Barbie pink ensemble as she shares she ‘never really cared about’ being the most followed person on Instagram at Music + Health Summit in LA

Two-time Grammy nominee Selena Gomez confessed she’s ‘terrified’ of artificial intelligence among other topics while speaking at the Universal Music Group and Thrive Global’s first Music + Health Conference on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old ‘Texican’ pop star looked sophisticated wearing a Barbie-pink wool Giuseppe Di Morabito pantsuit as she joined Universal Music Group CEO Sir Lucian Grainge and Thrive Global CEO Arianna Huffington onstage the 1 Hotel West Hollywood.

Selena flaunted a hint of cleavage in the brand’s $710 corset beneath the $1,100 ‘Single-Breasted Oversized’ jacket, $680 ‘Wide’ pants, $109 Betsey Johnson ‘Kimara Black Multi’ pumps, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry selected by stylist Erin Walsh.

Hairstylist Marissa Marino fastened Gomez’s raven faux-nytail and make-up artist Melissa Murdick fully contoured her complexion for the event.

The Single Soon songstress – who boasts 649.5M social media followers – made sure to Instastory a car selfie on the way to the venue, but said she ‘never really cared about’ being the most followed celebrity online.

In the hot seat! Two-time Grammy nominee Selena Gomez confessed she’s ‘terrified’ of artificial intelligence among other topics while speaking at the Universal Music Group and Thrive Global’s first Music + Health Conference on Tuesday

‘I suppose I’m grateful for the platform, and I would love to continue to use it for what I’m able to do, but numbers are just numbers,’ Selena shrugged – according to THR.

‘It can be a little heavy. I feel for people, and I think that’s what kind of keeps me in check, to be honest. I think I can be a little reckless with my emotions and having conversations with young people, women who are going through divorces or going through chemo – it’s not just about me, and I’m fully aware of that. I will just always cherish it. It’s a big responsibility, though. It’s a little scary.’

As for the idea of AI replacing performers and writers, Gomez said she didn’t think anyone in her field ‘wants to feel like they need to lean on a computer in order to translate their story or what they’re trying to say.’

‘It terrifies me, to be honest, the whole AI thing, but I don’t think you could ever replace what a human being can write,’ the Rare Beauty founder explained.

‘Lil Wayne said it really well, and he was basically saying that there’s no other human like who you are. And that’s all it should be.’

Selena was referring to the 40-year-old Grammy-winning rapper telling Billboard last month: ‘They were trying to tell me that AI could make a voice that sounds just like me. But it’s not me, because I’m amazing.

‘I’m like, is this AI thing going to be amazing too? Because I am naturally, organically amazing. I’m one of a kind. So actually, I would love to see that thing try to duplicate this motherf***er.’

Gomez currently executive produces and stars as true-crime podcaster Mabel Mora in Steve Martin and John Hoffman’s 10-episode third season of Only Murders in the Building, which airs Tuesdays on Hulu.
