Selena Gomez is trying her hand at edgy fashion — and succeeding.
The 31-year-old singer and actress attended the Time100 Summit in New York City on Wednesday, April 24 in a Matrix-inspired, all-black ensemble. The Only Murders in the Building star looked cool as ever in an oversize black leather jacket and a black dress with a leather corset bodice. She accessorized with open-toe black pumps, black cat-eye sunnies and subtle jewelry.On Instagram, stylist Erin Walsh shared that Gomez’s dress is by Brandon Maxwell and her jacket is Ducie London.
The star’s shoulder-length hair was styled in an effortless blowout and she sported a chic and simple makeup look.

Inside the event, Gomez seemingly addressed rumors that she was stepping down from her cosmetics line, Rare Beauty.
“I don’t think I’m going anywhere. I am enjoying this a little too much,” she said during an onstage Q&A, adding that the company is her “pride and joy.”

The brand, which launched in 2020, is committed to reducing the stigma around mental health and donates 1% of sales to support the Rare Impact Fund, which provides young people with access to mental health services.“I didn’t want to really enter the cosmetics world without a mission,” Gomez said during the Summit. “It was actually a dream that kind of happened within this brand, and on top of it we were able to make hopefully decent products.”
The Disney alum recently stepped out to celebrate Rare Beauty’s latest product, Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush. At the April 6 event, she embraced another monochromatic look, donning a silky pink button-down dress with a subtle paisley pattern. She wore a baby pink coat over her shoulders for a laid-back look and accessorized with pointed pink pumps with small ribbons on them.

Like all of Rare Beauty’s products, the Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush features shade names related to positivity and mental health, like Cheer and Happy.
“I’m a strong believer that positivity is contagious, and I love that our product names serve as little #rarereminders, each named after a kind word,” Gomez told PEOPLE at the time of the product launch. “I’m very proud that our brand purpose extends to our product names and reflects our company values.”She continued, “Our goal is to spark conversations, offer resources and provide a platform for individuals to share their stories. We want people to know that mental health matters and everyone deserves support and compassion.”
