Lil Wayne says Drake gets hated on because he’s light-skinned

Lil Wayne has explained why he believes Drake is the target of hip-hop “hate crimes,” citing Drake’s skin tone as the reason.

The New Orleans icon gave his opinions on Friday, January 19, when he visited The Richard Sherman Podcast.

He said, “I get that from my upbringing, from being around Birdman,” after Sherman had complimented him on his talent-spotting skills.

When Sherman asked why people hate on Drake, Weezy didn’t hesitate to weigh in. “He’s light-skinned and red.”

He went on, “That’s just American history.” I can tell because I don’t have light skin. I detested all guys in school with fair complexion. Thus, indeed, this is American history, dude.

B.G. advised his old groupmate Lil Wayne to “stop playing” in an email he sent earlier this week regarding a possible Hot Boys reunion.

The New Orleans native, who was freed from prison late last year, stated on Instagram Live that he wants the rap duo to reunite despite if he just made fun of Wayne.

He said, “Say Juvie, there are people about this Hot Boys reunion on my line, man.” “Weezy, please stop having fun. Man, there’s a big bag involved. Did you hear me?

“I know you super rich. You are obviously a huge fan of Taylor Swift. Man, get over it. Man, stop playing. Let’s tackle this bag now.

B.G.’s plea for a Hot Boys reunion was met with some criticism from fans given his recent comments about Lil Wayne.

One said: “Sir, you can’t diss the man and want him to help you get to a bag. Unlike you, he doesn’t need that bag. You can go a long way by being humble, lol.

Another joked: “Wayne be on his mind every second of the day and Wayne just thinking bout coochie and drugs.”

B.G. took aim at his former Cash Money labelmate last month on a song with Finesse2Tymes called “Gangstafied.”

“My n-gga Boosie went home and my dawg was steady blowing/ My n-gga Weezy steady touring but he’s bitch and it’s showing/ I’m still a living legend, don’t act like you didn’t know it,” he rapped.

B.G. then attempted to clarify his remarks on Instagram Live where he said: “Y’all don’t understand what the fuck be going on, you know what I’m saying? I tell a n-gga I love him and call him a bitch all in the same sentence. It’s family business, man.

“To my younger brother Weezy, a shout-out. I spoke to my little brother last night. Man, give a shoutout to Shorty. Still my little brother. Love my little bro. This shit be complicated.”
