Lil Wayne gave a practical birthday gift with thanks to Birdman: ‘Grateful to my adoptive dad for appearing in my life’

On Tuesday, September 27, Cash Mon ey CEO managed to wish the New Orleans rapper a happy birthday despite the continuing legal dispute between Lil Wayne and Birdman.

Lil Wayne, who turned 34 on Tuesday, has been involved in an altercati on with Birdman and Cash M oney ever since he complained about his issues with the label on Twitter in December 2014, claiming that they were both preventing him from releasing his eagerly anticipated album Tha Carter V.

He tweeted, “I want all of my fans to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released because Baby & Cash M oney Rec. have refused to release it.” “Sadly, it’s not that easy. I wish I could take off this label and stop being around these people.” Wayne went on, “My creativity and I are both prisoners.”

Even though Lil Wayne has taken advantage of multiple occasions to give Cash Mo ney the finger, such as a May 21 show in Denver and a May 28 show in Phoenix, more than two years have gone and there is still no word on the album.

During a September 13 appearance on the FS1 show Skip and Shannon: But Lil Wayne undoubtedly said he wouldn’t work with Birdman again if the m oney was right. “Give me mine, and I’ll walk off, free, smiling,” he declared.

The birthday greetings also come at the same time that TMZ says rapper David Banner received payments totaling almost $160,000 from Lil Wayne’s own record label Young M oney for his contributions to the 2008 album Tha Carter III and the 2009 compilation We Are Young M oney. Billboard has reached out to the reps of David Banner and Lil Wayne for comments.
