Keanu Reeves is inducted into Canada’s Walk Of Fame as he attends the ceremony with Matrix co-star Carrie-Anne Moss

Keanu Reeves was inducted into Canada‘s Walk of Fame for the class of 2021 on Saturday.

Reeves, 57, was born in Beirut and raised in Toronto, where he first started performing at local theatre productions and on television before setting off to start his career in Hollywood in blockbusters like The Matrix and John Wick.

The event was not held in Canada, but rather in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California. Alongside Keanu was his Matrix co-star Carrie-Anne Moss.

‘Keanu Reeves is an iconic actor, producer, and director who has entertained audiences worldwide for more than three decades,’ the press release for the ceremony shared.

The actor made sure to clean up for the occasion, wearing a stylish black three-piece suit and tie. He paired the look with black boots.

Canada’s Walk of Fame is considered to be ‘the nation’s crowning jewel that celebrates Canadian excellence and achievement.’

The Walk of Fame welcomed ten new members to its prestigious ranks this year, including, ‘one of Canada’s most decorated war heroes to champions in sport, Nobel Laureates, a global business magnate, and iconic names in entertainment.’

The release stated, ‘This year’s class of outstanding Canadians are recognized not only for their distinctive accomplishments and successes but for their philanthropy, advocacy, and contributions toward the greater good.’

Some other inductees include Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart, Salome Bey, Jully Black, Ajay Vrimani, Bruce Cockburn, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Graham Greene, Serena Ryder, Romeo Dallaire Damian Warner, and the team of Banting, Best, Macleod, and Collip.

Reeves has much to be celebrating these days. Aside from getting inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame, he is going to return to movie screens as Neo in the new film from the Matrix franchise, The Matrix Resurrections.

The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 22, 2021.
