Jay-Z, 55, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has claimed he is the victim of an “extortion scheme” as he hits back at a civil lawsuit filed on Sunday, which claims Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was by his side when the alleged incident took place in 2000.

Rymir Satterthwaite has been fighting to prove that Carter is his biological father for a decade, with his late mother, Wanda, claiming she was just 16 when she became pregnant.

He told DailyMail.com of Jay-Z’s claims: ‘It is heartbreaking and disappointing to see Mr Carter respond to the allegations with such evasion and attack.’

‘My late mother, Wanda, was just 16 when she became pregnant with me, and for many years I have sought clarity about my identity. This isn’t about greed or showmanship—it’s about uncovering the truth and holding all parties accountable.’

The lawsuit was originally filed in October in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against Diddy, and the appeals court on Sunday confirmed the rapper’s identity.

Carter issued a lengthy statement to DailyMail.com denying the claims in the refiled lawsuit and insisting he has always fought to ‘protect children’.

He said his “only heartache” is for his family, especially his eldest daughter Blue Ivy, 12, “who is at an age where her friends will inevitably see the press and question the nature of these claims.”

He added: ‘I grieve the loss of my innocence again.’

Rymir took aim at this statement, claiming that if Carter “valued the ideals of honor and child protection” he should stop denying his paternity.

He continued: ‘Despite my best efforts, Mr Carter has never written to me to address these claims – either to deny or acknowledge paternity, or to explain why his attorneys have engaged in this fraudulent conduct.’

‘If Mr Carter values ​​the ideals of honor and child protection, as he claims in his letter, he should come forward in a transparent manner. He continues to evade and evade.’

Rymir’s paternity issue did not become a legal battle until 2010 – two years after Carter married Beyoncé – when she asked a Pennsylvania court to order both men to undergo paternity testing to determine who was the real father of her son.

Rymir claimed that Jay-Z’s legal team had repeatedly tried to subvert the legal system to avoid having to take the test. Robert was found not to be a biological relative.

The case began with a preliminary hearing in Camden County, New Jersey on August 13, 2012.

During the preliminary hearing, Carter’s attorneys argued that Dr. Lillie Coley—who had acted as Rymir’s legal guardian since his mother granted custody in 2011—had “no jurisdiction” over his case because Wanda first filed the case in Pennsylvania, and therefore should be tried in the same state.

The case was dismissed outright because Rymir was over 18 at the time of the preliminary hearing, and under Pennsylvania law, paternity must be determined before a child reaches the age of majority.

The court ruled that the case would be tried under New Jersey law, which sets the age of “parenthood” at 23.

Carter’s legal team then argued that the rapper should be exempt from DNA testing in New Jersey because he does not live or own any property in the state — even though public records show he has homes in Alpine and Newport.

Rymir has lost every lawsuit he has filed.
