On Wednesday night, Lil Wayne opened the 2023 ESPY Awards with a performance of “A Milli,” one of his greatest singles.
The hip-hop veteran had the sports and entertainment figures in attendance up and dancing with a special two-minute sports rendition of the \it song before introducing the audience to the concert.
Rapper “Lollipop” made reference to athletes like LSU’s Angel Reese, Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin, football great Deion Sanders, NBA star Dennis Rodman, and the most recent NBA first-round pick, Victor Wembanyama.
At the glitzy awards presentation, Dwyane Wade, Quavo, Patrick Mahomes—who won the Best Athlete Award—and Lebron James—who took home the title for Best Record Bre aking Performance—all made brief appearances.
