Elizabeth Olsen Shares Heartfelt Reflections on Working with Scarlett Johansson After Black Widow Star’s Candid Admission of Shame

Crafting a unique world of her own in the WandaVision show on Disney+ was a task that only Elizabeth Olsen could have accomplished. Despite possessing the ability to alter molecular structures with her mutant powers as Scarlet Witch, Olsen’s true character is quite different from her on-screen persona.

After the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Olsen became a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She contributed significantly to her role and did justice to her legendary comic book character.

Elizabeth Olsen has credited other female actors for making her entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe a smooth experience. She particularly cherishes her bond with Scarlett Johansson, who plays the beloved Black Widow character. While promoting the movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Olsen openly expressed her admiration for Johansson after the latter complimented her acting skills.

After working for several years on various Marvel Studios projects, Scarlett Johansson has gained immense experience and self-assurance. Although she seemed capable of handling her own against the villains, the arrival of Elizabeth Olsen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe came as a welcome relief to her.

During a chat with the Sirius XM network, Scarlett Johansson discussed her experience working on The Winter Soldier (2014) and shared that the cast was quite male-dominated until Elizabeth Olsen joined. She praised Olsen’s acting skills and how she brought sensuality and passion to her character, which impressed Johansson and made her feel inadequate. Despite this, Johansson’s character, Black Widow, made the ultimate sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame to create opportunities for Olsen’s character in future films.

Elizabeth Olsen and Scarlett Johansson found inspiration in each other. The sequel to Doctor Strange features a multiversal catastrophe caused by the Scarlet Witch. This event helped Olsen delve deeper into her own potential. When the talented 16-year-old Xochitl Gomez was cast for the film, Olsen saw how far women have come and credits Johansson for that.

During an interview with Variety, Elizabeth Olsen gushedaout how Scarlett Johansson had inspired her on the set of “Ultron” with her calm demeanor and inclusive attitude towards the crew. The multiverse concept has introduced limitless potential for Marvel, but Olsen has put to rest any speculation about her returning as Scarlet Witch in the near future. Sadly, this update has left some of her fans feeling devastated.
