If you don’t get along with your boyfriend’s best friend’s girlfriend, it’s really awkward. As BeyoncĂ© and Kim Kardashian are currently learning.
We believed Beyonce and Kim were getting to know one another and, surprise!, genuinely dating after seeing them dancing together at a Watch the Throne performance earlier this year. Onlookers claimed that they were making every effort to stay away from one another this weekend, thus it appears that their friendship is finished.
Kim was there to support Kanye (who was a “surprise” guest during Jay’s act) and Beyonce was there to support her husband at Jay-Z’s Made In America festival in Philadelphia this past weekend. However, they uncomfortably avoided speaking to one another rather than becoming close as they had in Birmingham.
According to an eyewitness, Kim and Beyonce hardly ever spoke to one another. On either side of the stage, they were. It wasn’t until toward the end of the event that Beyonce acknowledged [Kim] was there. When Kim and Queen B met backstage, it became much more awkward, even though it seems like Kim didn’t try to talk to her either.
“In the dressing room, they engaged in polite talk, but it was clear that Kim was uneasy. A second insider claims that she didn’t speak anything and clung to Kanye the entire time. The informant claimed that Kim told Jay how much she liked the show, and that “[Kim] was talking to Jonathan [Cheban her best friend], and Kanye was talking to Jay-Z and Beyonce.” WaitâKanye and Jay-Z must use the same dressing room? What is this?
Perhaps Beyonce is afraid that Kim will say, “Let’s tweet a picture!” if she speaks to her. You’re going to be on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, so be sure you sign this release form! Let’s remain lifelong best pals!
Beyonce hung out with Rita Ora, who is signed to Jay-Z’s label, for the most of the festival while sipping what appeared to be beer from a red cup. Beyonce was wearing knee-high boots with enormous heels, proving that she doesn’t wear wellies.
Kim was unfazed by the failure of her attempts to become friends with Beyonce, who left the show in a helicopter. What a life.
