Croatia’s Zlatni rat beach is a breathtakingly beautiful destination, renowned for its unique shape that sets it apart from other beaches around the globe. It has been featured in several renowned magazines such as National Geographic, the Insider Travel and the New York Times, who have all recognized it as one of the most exceptional and spectacular beaches worldwide.
Zlatni rat is not only a symbol of Bol and Croatia, but also a protected geomorphological monument. Its beauty goes beyond its iconic shape. The beach is surrounded by pristine crystal-clear waters that transform from turquoise to dark blue in just a few meters. Additionally, locals have planted pine trees around the beach, providing natural shade for visitors to enjoy.
Less than 2 km away from Bol lies a picturesque beach, accessible via a charming promenade shaded by pine trees. The 500 meters long pebble beach has a distinctive shape, resembling a tiny peninsula that extends into the sea with almost 900 meters of beachfront on either side. With over 20,000 square meters of space, the beach can comfortably cater to more than 10,000 visitors. Additionally, there are numerous small beaches along the promenade to explore.
It’s intriguing how this particular beach alters its form and location based on various factors such as wind, tide, and current. At times, the tip of the beach even moves so much that it creates a tiny pool. Mornings here are typically calm without any winds, but come afternoon, the breeze picks up. Nevertheless, one side of the beach remains undisturbed and provides ideal conditions for families with young kids to enjoy.
